Hush Street is tracking what’s being built in Jackson Heights, East Elmhurst, Elmhurst and Corona.

Growth here comes mostly through single-site private rezonings rather than a city neighborhood plan. The City Council approved a 13-story, 314-unit building on a TD Bank site at 78-01 Queens Boulevard in November 2025, and two more rezonings on Corona’s 108th Street corridor in August and September 2026. A supermarket owner is pairing stores with apartments, and Slate Property Group has filed for a 479-unit building at the Queenswood complex near LeFrak City.

Not every plan is welcome: Community Board 3 voted 22-3 against a 535-unit proposal on the LaGuardia Airport Marriott’s parking lot. Public money is also arriving, including $33.8 million for Jackson Heights’ first community center and pool, state funding for Elmhurst Hospital’s maternity and pediatric units, and the USTA’s $800 million Arthur Ashe Stadium overhaul.

Where DOB records and press reports disagree on heights or unit counts, both are given. A permit is not treated as proof that construction has started.
